Oregon and Washington would see a number of interstate improvements. The map below shows these various improvements. Solid Blue Lines indicate new free and purple indicates toll interstate routes. Dotted lines show additional Proposed routes or alternative routes. Red lines show existing Interstate highways. Interstate 109 - Walla Walla Spur
Description Create a new ultimate interstate spur to Walla Walla following US-12. The spur would begin just north of the Casey Pond/Burbank Slough where it connects to ultimate interstate 209 at its western end. The spur ends just east of Walla Walla at the regional Airport.
Purpose and Need To promote interstate continuity, facilitate industrial and farm truck traffic and provide a link to Walla Walla.
Interstate 209 - Tri-Cities Bypass - Renumbering and Extension
Description Extend existing I-182 and renumber as future ultimate interstate 209. The route extends south along US-12 from . Pasco to I-109 near Casey Pond/Burbank Slough area. From there it turns west crossing the Columbia river and heads west-south-west over new terrain to I-82 (future ultimate interstate 9) near the WA-397 exit.
Purpose and Need To promote interstate continuity and provide a link from Portland and the Tri-Cities to Spokane.
