''Ultimate Interstate 605'' is an interstate highway corridor that would be formed by renumbering a small portion of the SR-167 freeway west of SR-512 (I-805) near Puyallup. The highway is expected to be extended to the northwest of its existing terminus as a toll facility connecting to I-5 near Fife and then ending near the Port of Tacoma at SR-509. This route would connect the I-805 corridor with Tacoma and also provide access for port traffic as well. This route would be a tolled facility with electronic toll collection only (no cash). Toll by plate is considered to be an option as well. Seattle Metro could benefit from the upgrade of some of its freeways to interstate designations as a way of promoting interstate continuity with the greater system. This plan largely involves changing the route designation on several routes to interstate routes mostly serving the southern part of the metro area.
Ultimate Interstate 490
Ultimate Interstate 490 is an interstate highway corridor formed by renumbering and upgrading the SR-18 corridor. The corridor begins at I-5 in Federal Way, WA heading east on what is currently the SR-18 freeway. The route travels through Auburn, Covington, and Maple Valley, WA and heads across the hills south of Tiger Mountain connecting to I-90 near Snoqualmie. The eastern section near Tiger Mountain would need to be upgraded to a 4 lane freeway as it is currently a 2 lane highway at this time. This highway would provide a vital link and bypass for travelers to the Puget Sound region.
Ultimate Interstate 605
Ultimate Interstate 605 is an interstate highway corridor that would be formed by renumbering a small portion of the SR-167 freeway west of SR-512 (I-805) near Puyallup. This highway could be extended eastward on to the SR-420 freeway making the route a spur. If this were to happen then the route could be designated as I-505 instead.
Ultimate Interstate 805
Ultimate Interstate 805 is an interstate highway corridor that would be formed by renumbering portions of the SR-167 and SR-512 freeways. The route would begin at I-5 in the south following along the SR-512 freeway through the cities of Parkland and Puyallup, WA. The route would then continue northward along SR-167 passing Auburn, Kent and ending in Renton, WA at the I-405 freeway. This route would act as a relief route for the I-5 freeway south of I-405.
Ultimate Interstate 905
Ultimate Interstate 905 is an interstate highway corridor that would be formed by renumbering and upgrading of portions of SR-16 and SR-3 from Tacoma to Poulsbo, WA. This route would provide interstate access to Port Orchard, Bremerton, Silverdale and Poulsbo, as well as the Navy bases in the area. This route would have vital military and national importance for freight traffic accessing the Olympic Peninsula and the western Sound region.
SR-520/Floating Bridge
Not shown on the maps, this route could be updated as a potential I-5 interstate spur. However with the draw span in the Lake Washington bridge the route is not interstate compliant. This could be overlooked however. If signed the route could be signed as I-305 or I-105.
