The Northern Plains states would see a number of interstate improvements. The map below shows these various improvements. Solid Blue Lines indicate new free and purple indicates toll interstate routes. Dotted lines show additional Proposed routes or alternative routes. Red and Green (toll) lines show existing Interstate highways. Click on a shaded region below to view more detailed information about interstate ideas for that area

Tri-State Corridors
This is a conceptual option to construct two interstate highway corridors. The first corridor would travel across central Iowa from Sioux City eastward to Rockford Illinois. The other corridor would travel in a general northeasterly cirection from Davenport through Dubuque IA connecting to Madison, Wisconsin. This second corridor could be extended further north to connect to the Fox River valley at Fond du Lac, or southward connecting to Quincy IL and I-72. These corridors would connect the states of Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin.
Kansas City Metro
As a result of the expansion of the I-49 corridor and potential of extending the I-45 corridor northward there are some changes that should be made to KC Metro interstates that would enhance wayfinding and simplify route designations in the region especially along the Kansas Turnpike and Downtown KC.
