Ultimate Interstates:Bay Area
This proposal would renumber several bay area freeways as auxiliary interstate routes based on the planned I-1 and I-9 corridors and involve the upgrade and construction of a few key corridors for future growth and interregional travel, including one new auxiliary interstate in the Sacramento Area.
Bay Area
US-101 (Bayshore Freeway)
The US-101 (Bayshore Freeway) would serve as an auxiliary route for I-1 even though it isn't an interstate. Due to the historic significance of the route and to avoid having duplicate route numbers the route would remain a US route.
Ultimate Interstate 201
Ultimate Interstate 201 is an auxiliary interstate highway corridor formed by renumbering of the SR-85 freeway as Interstate 201 from Santa Clara to south San Jose.
Ultimate Interstate 301
Ultimate Interstate 301 is an auxiliary interstate highway corridor created by renumbering the freeway portion of SR-237 from I-201 (SR-85) to I-880 (I-1).
Ultimate Interstate 401
Ultimate Interstate 401 is an auxiliary interstate highway corridor by renumbering the the freeway and toll bridge portions of SR-92 as Interstate 401 across the San Mateo Bridge. The route would travel from I-280 in the west to to I-880 (I-1) in the east.
Ultimate Interstate 701
Ultimate Interstate 701 is an auxiliary interstate highway spur connecting I-1 (existing US-101) to Santa Cruz, CA. This would involve upgrading and renumbering the CA-17 freeway corridor and a portion of the I-880 freeway From San Jose to Santa Cruz, CA. The interstate designation would end in Santa Cruz, CA at the end of the freeway segment along CA-1.
Ultimate Interstate 801
Ultimate Interstate 801 is an auxiliary interstate highway corridor by renumbering and upgrading CA-37 across the north bay area to freeway standards connecting the I-80 freeway to the possible northward extension of the I-1 Corridor The route would travel from Novato, CA through Vallejo ending at I-80 in the east.
Ultimate Interstate 901
Ultimate Interstate 901 is an auxiliary interstate highway spur connecting I-1 (existing US-101) to Monterey, CA. This would involve upgrading and renumbering the CA-156 corridor and a portion of the CA-1 freeway From Prunedale to Monterey, CA. The interstate designation would end in Carmel, CA at the end of the freeway segment of CA-1.

Ultimate Interstate 209 is an interstate highway corridor by renumbering the the freeway portions of SR-4 as interstate 209 from Hercules, CA (I-80) to Stockton California and the planned I-9 Corridor currently signed as CA-99.
